Endangered Species

Unlawful to take, possess, transport, import, export, process, sell, offer for sale, buy or offer to buy any endangered species.

Regulations

Sport fishing license allows a persont to take and possess 100lbs of live turtles or 50 lbs of dressed turtles
Residents may take common snappers, softshells and painteds
Non-residents may take common snappers, softshells, and painted from the Missouri, Mississippi, and Big Sioux Rivers only
Taking of eggs is prohibited
Turtles can be taken by hand, turtle hook, turtle trap, or hook and line. Turtle traps must be lifted and emptied every 72 hours.
