Basking Southern Painted Turtle. That rough muddy bank look can be achieved by mixing a brown coloring agent (made for that purpose) with concrete during the mixing stage; I've done it before. Again, if you use concrete or cement in turtle enclosures I recommend coating with a clear, appropriate epoxy (after curing) to smooth it out. Be aware new cement & concrete can alkaline water for awhile. I don't know what they used to make that bank. Photo: Richard Lunsford.
