A side view. A water hyacinth bed will shed a lot of root detritus, and if the water hyacinth prospers it'll form a dense layer of roots (perhaps a foot deep) & it'll be a hassle to keep the enclosure clean. This is especially true of sealed off or deep-walled enclosures where entrance & maneuverability inside the tank are hard. Sure looks great, though. Photo: Richard Lunsford.
