Those 2 Spiny Turtles are adults (top & bottom) who've lost marginal spines the species is named for. This species has a reputation for being prone to die in captivity in the U.S. despite good care. Many are wild-caught imports. Hopefully with time captive breeding will give us non-parasitized specimens better acclimated to captivity. Photo by Richard Lunsford.
