Editor's Note: I'd use a water-proof sealant on that wood to further protect it. Also, some stock tanks include bottom drains on the side you can attach hoses (i.e.: water hoses) to, letting you drain them easily. If you use such a tank, consider leaving a water hose hooked to it & make your base accomodate the hose. Of course, that assumes the setup's not in a basement & you can run the hose out a window.
