Female Pastel Red-eared Slider. Location: Private Collection. Photo: Jeff H.

Special Note: It's rumored pastel RES are produced by incubating eggs at abnormally high temp.s (which would explain why the rumor holds most pastels are female), with variable results. They have a reputation for structural abnormalities (irregular scutes, plus the abnormal coloration & patterning for which they are prized) and shortened lives. Adults aren't that common a sight.
